About the Work
Darkened fibers and pigment layers form the remains of a mat-like structure. The uneven deterioration across its surface suggests selective decay, with certain strands retaining their original tension.
Fragments of woven mats and textiles often reveal uneven patterns of survival—fibers preserved in one area while others collapse into dust. This piece echoes that selective endurance: certain strands still hold their original tension, while surrounding structures fade into disintegration. What remains is less a complete fabric than a map of time’s unequal hand.
